NOTICE OF CHANGES TO ‘VILLAGE HOPPER’ BUS SERVICE
It is with regret that we have to advise you that Cogenhoe & Whiston Parish Council , who are the licence’d operators of the bus service, have determined that, with effect from the 7th October 2019, along with other changes to the timetable, service to the stop at The Green will be discontinued other than to:
“drop off there on request so that if anyone has shopping they don’t have to carry it up the hill”.
Despite our objections to these changes and our request for information supporting the need for them, which has not been forthcoming, we are advised that they have been approved both by Northampton County Council and the Traffic Commissioner.
Needless to say your Parish Council is mindful that these changes may prevent some residents, especially those with mobility issues, from accessing this public service and accordingly will be considering what further action may be taken.
In the meantime the council would refer you to the recently set-up Ability Community Transport Scheme funded by the Parish Council which may be able to offer an alternative transport arrangement.
