Covid Infections
Yesterday at the Councillors’ Covid Briefing, the message was that we are not yet out of the woods. Nationally, the infection rate is 350 per hundred thousand, but in North Northamptonshire it is 374, and in West Northamptonshire, 436, so there is work still to do. Vaccination rates are high, but there are still some hard to reach groups. The basic message is that even though mandated restrictions are gone, the simple public health message – Hands, Face, Space – still needs to be observed and promoted. Anything parish and town councils can do to keep drip feeding the public health message and encouraging vaccinations through web sites and social media will be enormously helpful.
