Local Food Bank Donations
Re:store and Grow Baby are two charities operating out of premises next to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Sheep Street Northampton. Re:store is a Food Bank offering all sorts of non-perishable food items (including pet food but no alcohol), cleaning and laundry materials and toiletries; Grow Baby offers food, clothing, nappies, toiletries and equipment for babies and children up to five years old. They also offer a cafe and advice service.
At Great Houghton WI we have been supporting these two local charities for several years. Donations are collected at the WI meeting on the first Tuesday each month and delivered to Sheep Street that week. In the past we have also welcomed donations from Brafield on the Green residents, but this year we are widening the invitation to donate to include residents in Great Houghton and Little Houghton.
Collection points in each village are listed below so all you need to do is to drop off your items at one of the following and we will do the rest. If you are not sure what to donate the following basics are always welcome: – long life milk, small (1 lb) bags of sugar, tea, coffee, nappies and new children’s underwear.
This is going to be a challenging winter for many people especially those with young children and your donations would be welcome.
Thank you for your support
