We are the committee that facilitate and manage the Nene Valley Help Scheme, a volunteer service
that provides transport for the elderly and infirm to doctors and hospital appointments.
We have been in our roles for ten years now and sadly we feel the time has come to hand over to a
There are four roles currently:
Chairperson – responsible for keeping it all legal, sorting out any difficulties, conveying and
managing meetings, (currently four a year).
Secretary/Treasurer – Contacting drivers by email about the AGM, ensuring meetings are recorded,
drafting and sending communications and keeping the financial records.
Coordinator – Responsible for accepting telephone requests on a NVHS mobile, contacting drivers to
DBS Facilitator – Supports applicants as they undertake DBS forms and liaise with Nene Valley
Community Action, who are the overseeing body.
We have a constitution to keep us straight and are willing to support a changeover period. This
community service is highly regarded by its users, and it would be sad if no-one comes forward to
