Having been made aware of a vehicle on the High Street that was causing an obstruction, I have made the owner aware that the van needed to be moved ASAP.
I also stressed the importance of keeping the pavement clear for pedestrians, especially those with mobility challenges, parents with strollers, and individuals with visual impairments who rely on clear pathways. I’ve made them aware that obstructing the pavement not only inconveniences pedestrians but also compromises their safety.
I have sent the below alert to residents in the village to encourage them to report any further obstructions to us. I have also contacted the WNC parking enforcement team and asked that they visit the High St to enforce the double yellow lines.
